PhD in Engineering by University of Vigo (Spain), MSc in Industrial Engineering - Logistics and Distribution by School of Engineering, University of Minho (Portugal) and Honours Degree in Industrial Electronic Engineering by School of Engineering, University of Minho (Portugal).
He taught in higher education since 2000. He is currently Sub-Director of Master’s Degree in Engineering and Industrial Management at School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto, position occupied since September 2016. He also was Head of the Master’s Degree in Engineering and Industrial Management at Superior School of Industrial Studies and Management, Polytechnic of Porto, from July 2012 to July 2016. He has supervised more than 35 MSc students at School of Engineering, Polytechnic of Porto and at Superior School of Industrial Studies and Management, Polytechnic of Porto. He has more than 50 papers published in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of International Conferences.
He is member of the Scientific Committee of some International Conferences, such as MESIC – Manufacturing Engineering Society International Conference, among others. In 2004 he was awarded with the APDIO/IO2004 prize, given by the Operation Research Portuguese Association for the best paper in Operations Research from a Master of Science Dissertation in the period 2002/2004.
