ESMAE has two chamber orchestras — Camerata NovNorte and Camerata de Cordas da ESMAE —, which are directed by professors Radu Ungureanu and Ryszard Wóycicki, respectively. Both groups have a stable presence in the department and include both ESMAE's students and alumni. Camerata NovNorte is an optional subject for students enrolled in the Instruments degree, whereas Camerata de Cordas da ESMAE, which performs with a conductor, appears on stage regularly as a chamber music group.
